Residential Solar Panel Cleaning

  • Solar Panel Cleaning is Critical. Solar panel cleaning reduces the corrosive effects of dirt, moisture, and contaminants.
  • Use a Professional. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and professional equipment keeps everyone safe. SoCal Solar Pro professionals know how to move around on delicate roof surfaces and how to clean solar panels without the threat of electrocution and falling.
  • Ideal Cleaning Method.  Avoid hosing down your solar panels. Tap water leaves mineral deposits on the panel and blocks sunlight just as much as dirt. Using pure reverse osmosis deionized water is ideal for preventing mineral build up and spotting.
  • Maximize Electrical Output.  Keeping solar panels free of soil and bird droppings is key to getting the maximum benefit from your panels. Up to 30% of the production of electricity can be lost due to soil buildup.
  • Solar panels will be cleaner.  Super purified water has a strong desire to return to its impure state so it sucks the dirt off the solar panels. We do not use a squeegee which would risk scratching the panels. By using this purified water it is impossible to leave streaks on the solar panels because no chemicals or detergents are used.
  • Environmentally friendly.  We are concerned about the environment. That is why we use pure water, eliminating the need for detergents or chemicals.
  • Lengthens lifespan of the solar panels.  Chemicals and detergents shorten the lifespan of rubber seals and fog the glass. Pure reverse osmosis deionized water washes away damaging chemicals, pollutants, and dirt to leave nothing that can shorten the lifespan of the solar panel

Common Sources That Reduce Solar Panel Output:

  • Dust
  • Dirt
  • Salt Spray
  • Pollen
  • Bird Droppings
  • Mineral Deposits From Rinsing with Tap Water
  • Corroded Connections

Lack of Cleaning and Maintenance Leads To:

  • Lower Energy Returns
  • Less Financial Payback
  • Costly Repairs
  • Fire Danger

Dirty Solar Panels Are Costing You Money!

In a nutshell, solar panels convert sunlight into electricity.

It’s important to understand how solar works. Solar panels are mounted on your roof for optimal sun exposure, preferably facing South or West. Sunlight is converted into DC power through solar modules.

The inverter converts DC power produced from the solar modules, into the AC power used in your house or business.

The net-meter measures the amount of electricity provided to you by your local utility. When your solar modules produce more electricity than you are using, it goes back to the utility company’s grid, crediting your account (your meter literally spins backwards!).  Your electric company provides electricity automatically “on demand.” When the sun is out, excess solar production provides you with an energy offset credit.  During the night, power is readily available from the grid.
